There’s incredibly sad news out of Greenock, Inverclyde in Scotland as news has hit that a young actor from the hit Starz series Outlander, Jack Burns, has passed away at the age of 14.

Jack Burns Passes Away

According to Metro UK, the young ballet star was found dead in his home earlier this month on December 1.

While circumstances don’t appear to be suspicious, the cause of death is still unknown. In the meantime, the young star is being remembered in glowing terms by those who knew him — including the dance company to which he belonged.

Remembered Fondly

“Jack was an inspiration to everyone at Elite and touched the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of working and dancing with him since 2012,” wrote Elite Academy of Dance- Greenocks Royal Academy Classical Ballet School on their Facebook page. They were also kind enough to share the funeral information for the family.

People from all over the world, having heard about the young boy’s shocking passing, have commented on the Facebook tribute post, sharing their heartfelt condolences with the dance academy and wishing the young man’s family peace during this very difficult time for them and his entire community.

A Tragic Loss

According to Metro UK, “Jack, who appeared on several TV shows, including Outlander and [British mini-series] Plain Sight, had been dubbed the next Billy Elliot.”

While Jack Burns wasn’t listed in the Outlander cast on IMDB, his brother Rory played young Roger and it is believed Jack may have been an extra on the beloved hit show. Between what he had already accomplished at his very young age and the promise that he showed, he will surely be remembered.
