New clues are already being teased about Season 13 of When Calls the Heart. The Hallmark series will start production on July 1. Costume designer Barbara Gregusova was one of the first crew members to show up at the filming location in British Columbia, Canada. She’s shared some of the attire that the characters might wear in the new season. Hearties noticed one clue from her recent social media post.
The Wedding Shoes
Gregusova has been dropping photos and clips on her Instagram page. If you missed some of them, you’ll want to check them out. In one of her posts, she posted what looked like a pair of wedding shoes. Gregusova coyly wrote, “Going down the shoe rabbit hole…😉 Looking for the right pairs to match our characters – because every step counts (especially in period heels!).”
The cream-colored kitten-heel shoes fit in with the 1920s. Next to the shoes is a matching evening bag with purple flowers fastened to the clasp. But that wasn’t the only shoe that she showed. Gregusova shared photos of other women’s shoes in a variety of styles and colors. They were adorned with bows, buttons, lace, and cutout details.

Hearties React
Gregusova’s goal with this post was probably to reveal the shoes that women wore during this time period. However, some of the styles gave Hearties major wedding vibes. Most of them noticed the pale pink shoes that she included in the post. Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth Thatcher, previously revealed her love for wearing pastel colors.
“One fan commented, “The first one is interesting. Definitely looks like it could be for a wedding, especially a second wedding,” to which another wrote, “Exactly my thought, too! Let’s hope!❤️” Some fans nearly passed out at Gregusova’s post. They assumed she teased wedding bells for Elizabeth and Nathan (Kevin McGarry).

“A third fan exclaimed, “I thought those were wedding shoes for a second and almost passed out. 😂😂” Gregusova has her work cut out for her. She had to bring in totes and racks filled with clothing. Now, she has to create a wardrobe and color palette for each character this season.
