Kyle Richards promised not to mention Morgan Wade’s name in Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Yet some fans feel that Kyle should feel comfortable enough to talk about Morgan around her friends. Kyle explained why she no longer mentions the country singer.
How Private Is Too Private?
Kyle has already received backlash for being too private on RHOBH. In Season 13, she shared little details about what led to her separation from her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky. The Bravo star also introduced viewers to her new best friend, Morgan. The two were inseparable. The BFFs wore matching outfits and tattoos. Kyle’s tune changed in Season 14 when she said she would no longer mention Morgan’s name. She didn’t want unwanted attention around their relationship.
Garcelle Beauvais doesn’t understand Kyle’s reason. She feels that Kyle should feel comfortable talking about Morgan around her friends, yet Kyle claims she has to keep her “guard up” around Garcelle. She addressed this matter on the latest episode of RHOBH: After Show. Kyle shared that she and Garcelle had an understanding behind the scenes, but that all changed when the cameras started rolling.
“When Garcelle and I have spoken in private, she’s been totally understanding of my position that I’m in – in discussing this,” Kyle explained. “And in front of the ladies, though, she wants to bring it up and bring it to the table. It just doesn’t match our private conversations.”

Setting Boundaries
On Tuesday’s episode of RHOBH, the ladies went on a girls’ trip to Saint Lucia. During the white dinner party, Garcelle said, “I think what’s confusing to me is that I feel like we tip-toe around Morgan. What the situation is,” Kyle quickly responded, “There is no situation there.”
On the RHOBH: After Show, Bozoma Saint John told co-star Dorit Kemsley that she doesn’t understand how these women can be friends with Kyle if they don’t know everything about her life. Erika Jayne explained to producers that she’s not on a “need to know” basis with Kyle. She doesn’t “give a f***” about what’s going on in Kyle’s personal life. Erika had no problem when Kyle asked her not to mention Morgan.
In her solo interview, Kyle explained that she was fine with not speaking about Garcelle’s son, Oliver. She wished Garcelle would’ve reciprocated the favor. But now, she feels that she has to keep her “guard up” around two of her co-stars. “Wow, do I need to have my guard up with Garcelle and Sutton, too, at times? I shouldn’t have my feelings hurt after this many years, but I do,” Kyle concluded.
