The highly anticipated new show When Hope Calls is coming to Great American Family. The trailer for Season 2 has dropped, along with a full synopsis. It shows that mystery and romance involve the residents of Brookridge.
New Trailer Drops
On Thursday, February 27, People Magazine was the first to tease the new trailer for Season 2 of When Hope Calls. The story picks up from the premiere season, which aired on the Hallmark Channel. Great American Family picked up the rights to the show, which is a spinoff of When Calls the Heart. However, it will have a different vibe from the sister drama.
The new season shows Nora (Cindy Busby) riding to Brookfield in a horse-drawn carriage. The following scene shows Mountie Fletcher (Christopher Russell) temporarily taking over until Gabriel (RJ Hatanoka) returns. Nora’s beauty strikes him. She catches his eye, causing him to spill his coffee.
Nora shares the reason for her return with Lillian (Morgan Kohan). She was familiar with Lillian’s birth mother, which amps up the mystery. Nora and Fletcher ride in a carriage together in another scene. Meanwhile, 90210 alum Trevor Donovan makes his debut as Constable Jim Reynolds, who shares advice with his fellow officer.
Other romance unfolds in Season 2. Hopefuls will find out that Lillian and Gabriel have still been exchanging letters despite ending their courtship. Their letters reveal they’re still in love. Sam (John McLaren) shows up in Brookridge. Hanna (Sarah Fisher) finds keeping up with her uncle’s ranch difficult.
The Official Synopsis
The trailer isn’t the only thing that dropped on Thursday. People Magazine also received exclusive details about Season 2. The rest of the synopsis for When Hope Calls Season 2, Episode 1 reads: “Tess (Wendy Crewson) has a new foal on her land that goes missing. Tess searches with the help of brother-in-law Ronnie (Neil Crone), who runs Brookfield’s hotel. Hannah Lawrence tries to maintain the sprawling ranch of her late uncle, Ray, with the help of Wyatt (Nick Bateman,) who oversees the day-to-day.”
When Hope Calls is based on Janette Oke’s novels of the same name. The first season aired back in 2019. It’s been described as a “family-oriented” series that will have “a lot of heart.” Of course, there will be “some romance,” in which the core characters will “fall in love, they might even kiss.” When Hope Calls Season 2 premieres early on Thursday, April 3, on Pure Flix and on Great American Family on Sunday, April 6, at 8 p.m. ET.
