There is more good news in store. Last month, the When Calls the Heart cast celebrated the news that the show has been renewed for Season 13. Now, the series is cemented as the most-watched series on cable television.
Celebrating The Roaring Twenties
Hearties received more good news. According to a press release from Hallmark Media, WCTH Season 12 is cable’s No. 1 most-watched program this year. This season, 6.1 million viewers were totaled. That doesn’t include Hallmark+ ratings; it only includes information from the Nielsen data. In addition, WCTH is still Hallmark’s most-watched series on the network.
In addition, Season 12 attracted households, women 18+, individuals 18+, and overall total viewers. This season broke many records, such as being the most-watched program among these demographics and the #1 most-watched program of the week with women 18+ and households.
Thanks to this popular series, the Hallmark Channel was the No. 1 most-watched network on Weekend Total Day viewers with women 18+. This series remains the top-rated show on the network. The long-running series has gone through many changes over the years. Yet, its fanbase can’t get enough of the beloved characters.
Celebrating WCTH’s Win
This is a huge win for Hallmark Media. WCTH is different from other top-rated shows because it creates a sense of community. Hearties across the nation gather on social media spaces to discuss each episode as it plays out in real time. The fanbase is comparable to soap opera fans.
“At Hallmark Channel, we’re proud of the longstanding fandom and excitement surrounding Hope Valley. When Calls the Heart delivers the charm, warmth, and community of Hallmark’s signature storytelling, and we’re pleased that the series continues to drive stellar ratings after 12 seasons and counting,” DiPippo said in a statement.
Major changes are coming to WCTH Season 13. The series will have a new showrunner, which means more of a focus on flawed and relatable characters. What are your thoughts on WCTH Season 12 becoming the No. 1 most-watched show on cable? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
