Big Movie Premiere
According to various local outlets, Hallmark celebrated the premiere of Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story in East Aurora, New York. Some of your favorite players from the Buffalo Bills, as well as the movie’s stars, Holland Roden (Teen Wolf) and Matthew Daddario (Shadowhunters), took to the red carpet.
The movie premiere and screening took place on Thursday, November 13. Also in attendance were fans, who can’t wait for the film, which premieres on Saturday, November 22, on the Hallmark Channel.
But that’s not all that happened. Hallmark ensured that special events were planned for fans around town. On Friday, some of the stars visited Annie’s Hallmark Shop, reports WIVB.com. The actors were greeted with cheers and high-fives.
When fans entered the store, they got the chance to meet the film’s cast and take photos with them. This was an immersive fan experience that Hallmark aims to incorporate into most of their content.
Why Buffalo Bills Fans Will Love It
The Niagara Frontier Publications shared details about the holiday film. Writers Danielle Morrow and Vanessa Marano explained that they had to get the script right. They wanted to convey the energy and essence of Buffalo Bills fans, as well as the community itself, of course.
“When Hallmark approached us with the idea to do a Buffalo Bills Christmas movie, first and foremost, it was, ‘We want to get Buffalo right. We want to get this fandom right.’ Because it is one of the most passionate and devoted fandoms out there,” Marano said.
So, they did their research. The writers visited Buffalo and explored the football scene. “We went to Bar Bill, and that’s where the idea was conceived. And that’s where the movie opens,” Morrow said.
The fans were delighted to be part of the movie. They proved their dedication when they showed up to filming in the cold, dead of winter. Marano and Morrows wanted to convey that in the film, Holiday Touchdown.
This movie is the second in the series. Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story was the one that started it all. Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story premieres on Saturday, November 22, at 8 p.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel. It will also be available to stream 24 hours later on Hallmark+.
