Season 34 Contestant Speaks Out About Elimination
Baldwin is no longer dancing in the ballroom. She and her dance partner, Gleb Savchenko, went home last Tuesday. Baldwin hoped that she would make it to Dedication Night, where she would dance with her husband, Alec Baldwin.
The former ballroom dancer went live on TikTok. She said, “I did get bullied off the show… I did that is for sure, that is for sure, yeah.” Baldwin blamed the online trolls for voting her off.
Some DWTS fans have vowed on social media to get her voted off as soon as possible, regardless of how well her dancing was. These could be the trolls that she was addressing.
Andy Richter Shuts Down Online Trolls
Richter spoke out after Baldwin’s elimination. He didn’t understand why people were being so mean to her. Richter posted a selfie video on Instagram that showed him in the driver’s seat of his vehicle.
At first, the 58-year-old comedian thanked fans for the “love and goodwill” they’ve given to him and his pro dance partner, Emma Slater. Richter wished they had given that energy to his fellow competitor.
“Everybody there works just as hard as everybody else, and they all deserve to be there,” Richter said. “I just don’t know why people have to be so mean.”
He reminded viewers that these are “people with families and kids” and that “this is a dance contest.” There’s no need for hate. “There’s enough meanness in the world and we don’t need it in a ballroom dance competition,” Richter added.
Baldwin responded to Richter’s video with the comment, “Love you, Andy.” She also addressed the bullying comments on the Dancing with the Stars podcast.
Baldwin claimed that it “has nothing to do with me.” She just noticed an uptick in negativity during this season. “It has to do with what I’ve seen this past week with my name, with what people have done to me, and they don’t know me,” Baldwin said.
