- He has been a big fan of Krakow since they first collaborated in 2009.
- Rosenbaum teased the idea of leading a romantic film with his wife.
Spreading Holiday Cheer
The Christmas Cup debuts on Sunday, November 30, on the Hallmark Channel. It features six of your favorites from WCTH. Ahead of the movie’s premiere, Rosenbaum spoke to Entertainment Now about leading his first-ever Hallmark movie.
In the film, Rosenbaum plays Fire Captain Quinn Stokley, who falls in love with Staff Sergeant Kelly Brandt (Rhiannon Fish), who gets sidelined from a knee injury. She ends up spending time in her hometown, where they hold the annual Christmas Cup.
Quinn ends up falling in love with Sgt. Kelly. Rosenbaum admitted that he’s felt the love from the Hearties ever since it was first revealed that he would lead his first Hallmark Christmas movie.
“And it feels great. It’s really nice. For years, it feels like now, there have been fans of ‘When Calls the Heart’ who have taken a particular shine to my character, Hickam,” Rosenbaum explained. “I feel them lifting me up.”
Getting Love From His Wife
However, there’s no bigger fan in his life than his wife, Erin Krakow. And the feeling is mutual. Rosenbaum was captivated by her from the moment they started working together in 2009.
“Honestly, when Erin and I first met, I actually saw her working the first time we met, and really just developed a crush on her talent,” Rosenbaum exclaimed. “She’s just so good on stage and on screen.”
The two worked at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, where they appeared in the stage show, The Importance of Being Earnest. Krakow played Cecily, while Rosenbaum was an understudy for both characters, Algernon and Jack.
The two became friends. And then their careers brought them back together in New York, where they appeared in more stage shows. “So we had more opportunities to connect, and a romance developed from there,” Rosenbaum explained.
From Real-Life to Small Screen
Rosenbaum doesn’t want to compete with his wife. He would rather the two lead together. Is it possible that Krakow and Rosenbaum will lead their own romantic comedy one day?
“I think that would be really fun,” Rosenbaum said. The Hearties would love it as well. They still can’t stop buzzing about the couple’s wedding day.
The Christmas Cup premieres on Sunday, November 30, at 6 p.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel. It’ll also be available to stream 72 hours later on Hallmark+. Meanwhile, the 13th season of When Calls the Heart premieres on January 4, 2026.
