When Calls the Heart star Erin Krakow teased whether Elizabeth and Nathan would tie the knot in Season 13. The two are already living in wedded bliss, but that doesn’t mean any funny business is going on.
Key Takeaways
- Hearties wondered if Season 13 is about Elizabeth and Nathan’s engagement.
- The Hallmark promo teased “the moment you’ve been waiting for.”
- Krakow addressed whether it had something to do with the next stage in Elizabeth and Nathan’s relationship
- The popular couple has already been acting like a married couple who are very much in love and involved with their kids.
Acting Like Husband and Wife
In an interview with Soaps.com, Erin Krakow joked around about the Hallmark promo. In it, McGarry sported a mustache as he said he had a “big question” he needed to ask Elizabeth. Or, maybe she has a “big question” to ask him.
“I think it does feel like an engagement hint,” Krakow teased. “I certainly wouldn’t want to confirm anything, but you’ve seen the promos where Nathan is saying that he must ask Elizabeth a question. So, clearly, something big is coming.”
Krakow couldn’t directly answer about their relationship status. But she admitted that they’re already “at a point in their relationship” where they’ve been acting as a married couple. The two ended up in Cape Fullerton with their families, where they’re living under one roof.
“So, they’re sharing their meals together under one roof, and Nathan has a to-do list around the boarding house in Caper Fullerton,” Krakow explained. “He’s fixing things, and they are behaving as husband and wife in some ways.”

Will Nathan Pop the Question?
This type of relationship will carry into Hope Valley when they return. Krakow said that Hearties will see a different side of them this season. They will start by “having dinners at each other’s houses and including the kids.”
Elizabeth and Nathan’s romance will take center stage. Krakow also noted that “there’s certainly no lack of romance this season.” Hallmark is packing on the romance, which is no surprise, considering it’s known for its romantic Christmas movies and Valentine’s Day films.
Krakow is excited about this new development in Elizabeth and Nathan’s relationship, no matter where it takes them. “It’s just really nice to see how their family is developing,” she said.
When Calls the Heart Season 13 premiered on Sunday, January 4 at 8 p.m. ET on the Hallmark Channel. If you missed it, you can always catch up on Hallmark+, as new episodes stream the following day.
