The Talk hosts are reportedly “over” working on the show. They have already checked out, even though the final episode doesn’t air until Friday, December 20. This comes amid the reports of “on-set tension” involving co-host Sheryl Underwood.
Senioritis
Insiders spoke to The U.S. Sun about CBS’ canceled daytime talk show. The hosts already have a serious case of senioritis. Normally, this happens to high schoolers, who have a lack of interset toward the end of the semester. In this case, the talk show hosts have decreased motivation in the program.
Even some of the crew members have “given up.” One of those close to production noted that “It’s very senior year vibes on set right now.” There are two more weeks until the final taping. However, the hosts are struggling to maintain interest in the show. Most of them are probably focused on their future projects.
“They have just a handful of filming days left. Half of the staff are pouring that much more effort into everything because they love it and care so much,” the insider shared. “The other half are already checked out. And that goes for people both in front of and behind the camera.”
Icy Reception
The audience can already sense the energy. This news comes amid the rumors of the on-set tension. Sheryl was reportedly iced out by her fellow co-hosts. She was seen “sitting alone on her phone” while the other co-hosts “talked and laughed” in a cliquey fashion.
The vibes are noticeably different as well. Sheryl is reportedly more serious behind the scenes than she appears on-camera. Meanwhile, Jerry tries to keep things light and fun. CBS cancelled The Talk after 15 seasons. Though it was one of the top-rated programs, ratings have declined after its many cast shakeups.
CBS already mapped out its plans after The Talk concludes. Find out what program is filling in its timeslot for the next two months before the premiere of Beyond The Gates in February 2025.
