Entertainment News: Love & Family

Is it over for Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen? It sure seems so. According to Page Six, the couple have hired divorce lawyers, and their marriage is crumbling.

Also filing for divorce is Tia Mowry. She confirmed her split from Cody Hardrict after 14 years of marriage. The couple shares an 11-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter.

Another couple calling it quits is Miguel and Nazanin Mandi (who appeared on Y&R as an influencer). The supermodel filed for divorce from Miguel before reaching their third anniversary. She cites irreconcilable differences.

Hilary Swank is gearing up to be a mom…of twins! The 48-year-old actress announced her pregnancy on Good Morning America and gushed about her excitement for parenthood with husband Ruben Torres. There is no word on a due date just yet.

Royal-Tea

King Charles III’s coronation day is set! June 3, 2023, will mark the special ceremony. According to Page Six, this will be much smaller and more modest than his mother’s. On that day, he will become the oldest person to be crowned in British history.

Illness and Injury

Broadway star Susan Egan is taking a step back from the spotlight as she deals with her health. She recently pulled out of a Disney Princess concert tour after being diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. She assured fans she should make a full recovery but is unable to take the stage at this time.

Entertainment News: Celebrity Scandals & Hot Topics

Kim Kardashian is in some serious trouble with the SEC. She’s facing charges for allegedly unlawfully touting crypto asset security sold by EthereumMax. She was charged Monday and agreed to pay 1.26 million dollars in penalties. TVLine has the full story.

Casting & Changes

Frasier is getting a reboot! Paramount+ has ordered a revival of the hit show with Kelsey Grammer. However, the rest of the cast may not be in the credits. In the new series, Frasier is moving to a new city and is surrounded by a cast of new characters.

A younger Millennial and Gen Z dream is coming true with the announcement of a Blue’s Clues movie. Beloved host Steve Burns reprises his role to help Josh Dela Cruz and Blue on a big adventure. The movie drops on Paramount+ November 18th.

The cast of Magnum P.I. has a new face. Michael Cady was added to the series in the recurring role of Detective Chris Childs. He’ll make his debut in the season 5 premiere.

Entertainment News: In Memoriam

Activist Sacheen Littlefeather died on October 2nd. She is best known for turning down Marlon Brando’s Oscar award for the Godfather and recently received an apology from the Academy Awards for being mocked on stage during the historic moment. Her family confirmed she died from breast cancer. She was 75 years old.

Country Queen Loretta Lynn passed away in her sleep on October 4th. The legendary singer and songwriter rose to fame with her poignant songs about her life in poverty. Her smash hit Coal Miner’s Daughter shot her to fame and kept her in the spotlight for the majority of her life, even garnering her a movie based on the melody. She was 90 years old.

October marked the death of Pulitzer Prize and Tony-winning Playwright Charles Fuller. He is fondly remembered as the man behind masterpieces such as A Soldier’s Story (originally, A Soldier’s Play) and The Brownsville Raid. He was 83 years old.

Professional wrestler Sarah Lee died on October 6th. The WWE star leaves behind three children and her husband, Cory James Weston (AKA WWE’s Westin Blake). Lee’s mother made the announcement on social media but did not cite a cause of death.

The world of comedy is in mourning after the loss of Judy Tenuta. The stand-up comic passed away on October 6th after a battle with ovarian cancer. She rose to fame as ‘The Log Goddess’ and was lovingly known to her fans as ‘Aphrodite with an Accordion.’ She was 72 years old.

Entertainment journalist Nikki Finke, who founded Deadline in 2006, passed away after a prolonged illness. Her tough-as-nails style ruffled a lot of feathers but garnered a lot of respect. Finke’s live snarking of the award shows gave Joan Rivers a run for her money. She was 68.
