Jon Batiste is a married man. The five-time Grammy-winner and girlfriend, Suleika Jaouad, announced they wed in secrecy just a day before Suleika underwent a bone marrow transplant for leukemia.
Also, secretly wed were Christina Haack and Josh Hall. The couple was outed by TMZ when Christina changed her last name to Hall. However, no one is quite sure when the union officially took place.
Playing pretend were Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian. The couple walked down the aisle a 1:30 am on Monday in a Vegas chapel. In true Sin City fashion, they were ‘married’ by an Elvis impersonator. While it was originally marketed as a real wedding, news came on Wednesday that the couple did not have a license and this “secret ceremony” was all just for practice.
Kenan Thompson and his wife are divorcing after 11 years of marriage. He and Christina Evangeline went public with the news on April 7th saying it was a difficult but necessary decision.
Jennifer Lopez is engaged! Ben Affleck put a new ring on her finger as he proposed for the second time. JLo confirmed the news on Friday by posting a teaser on Facebook with a link to her email subscription list where the announcement went out to her fans.
Who is engaged is Avril Lavigne. The Canadian rocker said yes to fellow musician Mod Sun (real name Derek Smith). She took to Instagram to announce the news and show off her stunning Paris engagement pics.
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson made history this week by being the first black woman elected to the United States Supreme Court. She was confirmed after being elected in a 53-47 tally including support from both parties.
Rapper The Kidd Creole was convicted of manslaughter this week in a New York Supreme Court. It is alleged he stabbed a homeless man to death when they got into an argument back in 2017.
WWE’s Tammy Sytch was involved in a suspected DUI that took the life of a 75-year old man. Sytch crashed into the victim while they were stopped at a red light. Police are still collecting evidence before moving forward with possible charges.
Fox News correspondent, Benjamin Hall spoke out this week after losing limbs in a Ukrainian attack that took the lives of his coworkers Pierre Zakrzewski and Oleksandra Kurshynova. Ben lost half of one leg and one of his feet. He also lost vision in one eye and some of his hearing. He says he feels lucky to be alive.
Will Smith resigned from the Academy Awards after his slap scandal. He will no longer be able to cast his vote or claim any more awards. His conduct at the 2022 show also left him banned from the award show for the next ten years.
Soccer Star Hope Solo was arrested on April 1st. She was caught driving while impaired with her children in the car. She was booked in for a DUI and child abuse.
Ed Sheeran won a huge case this week after being accused of plagiarism for his hit song Shape of You. He spoke out after the courts ruled in his favor and called out not only the baseless claim made against himself but other musicians as well.
An off-the-cuff joke by Jimmy Kimmel sent Marjorie Taylor Green running to the cops. Green took issue with Kimmel’s one-liner about one of her controversial tweets and she took it as a threat and reported him to the police. Click here for the full story.
The hit contest show, Dancing With the Stars is getting a new home. Season 31 will not be aired on ABC as usual. The show is moving to the Disney+ streaming platform instead. In its place will be Monday Night Football and new show developments.
The Reel is calling it a wrap. The daytime show was cancelled after 8 seasons. This comes after a long list of other talk shows also announcing their final airdates including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Wendy Williams Show, The Nick Cannon Show, Dr. Oz, and The Doctors.
April 2nd was a sad day in the entertainment world – Estelle Harris died at age 93. The starlet rose to fame as Ronnie Cohen on Good Advice and is fondly remembered as George’s mom, Estelle Costanza, on Seinfeld. She spent decades in Hollywood and became a small screen legend.
Former teen idol and music legend, Bobby Rydell passed away on Tuesday, April 5th at 79 years old. A source close to Rydell told the press he was recently diagnosed with pneumonia.
April 5th also marked the death of iconic actor Nehemiah Persoff. His career spanned decades and included roles in Gunsmoke, Some Like It Hot, and Hawaii Five-O. The actor was 102 years old.
Tony Award-winning actress, Rae Allen died on April 7th of natural causes. She is fondly remembered as Aunt Quintina Bludetto during her run on The Sopranos and as Judge Betty Small on Soap. She was 95 years old.
Early Saturday morning, NFL player, Dwayne Haskins tragically died. The 24-year-old Pittsburg Steelers quarterback was stuck and killed by a dump truck while trying to cross an expressway in Florida. As of this report, his death is still being investigated.
