Ryan Seacrest shared his “sweet surprise” with his fans. However, they didn’t expect the American Idol host to have a new look to go with it.
New Season, New Look
Season 23 is underway. Seacrest posted a new promo video on his Instagram account and unveiled his new look for 2025. The television host looked remarkably younger with a bushy beard and curly hairstyle. Seacrest wasn’t his usual buttoned-up self. He wore a green Hawaiian shirt, white jeans, and brown boots. He stood before a large screen as his mother surprised him.
“Mom, what show is this?” Seacrest asked her. “THIS is American Idol,” she announced. We can see where he gets it from. “Can’t, can’t beat it,” Seacrest beamed at the camera. The iconic theme song played in the background. Meanwhile, AI fans took to the comment section to react to his new look.
“Love the new look, Ryan!!!” one fan wrote. “Someone took a trip to Turkey,” another user joked. “I like the beard! Very handsome!” a third user commented. As you can see, most fans were in awe of Seacrest’s cool and casual look. However, there were others who were skeptical of his change. One fan compared it to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who’s also been rocking a curly hairstyle lately.

What To Expect
Idol is set to return on Sunday, March 9. The season will have a new judge, Carrie Underwood. She replaced Katy Perry, who announced her departure from the show around this time last year. Perry shared that she wanted to focus on releasing new music. Underwood will be joining Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan on the judging panel.
Sunday’s show will be a two-hour premiere. For the auditions and Hollywood Week, the show will air on ABC on Sunday nights. Then, it will move to Sunday and Monday nights for its live format.
