Ryan Murphy’s new primetime series Doctor Odyssey set sail on Thursday, September 26. The show centers around Dr. Max, the hot new doctor who joins a luxury cruise line. “The only way I know to keep that machine functioning is to collaborate with Ryan and Joe and write inventive, smart, entertaining scripts that respect the audience’s intelligence while taking seriously the mandate to entertain,” Jon Robin Baitz, writer and executive producer, explained to The Walt Disney World Company.
The team is committed to creating a “juicy, joyous, big-hearted, lively, contemporary, funny, show.” On the surface, Doctor Odyssey looks like a slick drama. However, the showrunners want to make it “both old-fashioned and very modern in that it has all the elements of a traditional, big network show with gloss and a great deal of style.”
