It’s been a rocky road in reviving All My Children since it’s 2011 cancellation, from talks of a primetime reboot to television films, and Lifetime has finally offered fans of Pine Valley a glimmer of hope.

Christmastime Is Here?

After it was revealed that Lifetime – the thriller channel that’s known for starring soap opera alum – was in talks to develop a series of AMC films, a rep for the network confirmed the rumors.

TV Line announced on X (formerly Twitter) that not only are movies in development, but one is set to be a holiday film.

The first soap to go down the holiday film route was Days of our Lives, who premiered A Very Salem Christmas on Peacock in 2020.

Reboot Rumors

AMC was cancelled by ABC in 2011, airing it’s final episode in 2012 before it’s short-lived return from Prospect Park. Over a decade later, AMC alum Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos were in talks to revive the Soap on primetime with a series titled Pine Valley, but the show has yet to see the light of day.

From an online resurrection to a failed primetime series to Lifetime films, this marks the third attempt at bringing those beloved Pine Valley characters back to our screens.

More recently, fans got a hint of nostalgia when Walt Willy reprised his AMC role of Jackson Montgomery for a short stint on General Hospital in 2023. GH, the only remaining ABC soap, is also known for mentioning Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) from time to time.

Who do you hope to see star in these upcoming films? Let us know in the comments.
