Doctor Odyssey shocked fans with a pregnancy plot twist in the Thursday, March 27 episode. Someone else brought baby news aboard the Odyssey.
Single Sophisticated Ladies’ Week
This week was “Cougars’ Week,” now affectionately called “Sophisticated Ladies’ Week.” General Hospital alum Donna Mills guest starred as one of the passengers who became a COVID-19 case. The newly single lady wanted to have fun with Dr. Max Bankman (Joshua Jackson), has trauma from being patient zero since he almost died. Suddenly, his worst fears came true. He tested positive for the virus. Max told her they had to quarantine, but she eventually broke down his walls, literally and figuratively.
Shania Twain reprised her role as Heather, the woman that Captain Massey (Don Johnson) first connected with in Episode 2. Viewers never witnessed these two taking their relationship to the next level. But Heather drops a bomb on Captin Massey: she’s pregnant. That means there’s more baby drama in store for The Odyssey.
Viewers already found out that Avery (Phillipa Soo) is pregnant. She doesn’t know if Max or Tristan (Sean Teale). She’s also figuring out what decision to make since she wants to go to medical school. However, Avery also loves the idea of starting a family with someone she loves. Also, in the episode, Tristan tries to prove himself to Avery. Meanwhile, the medical crew had to care for a terminal cancer patient, played by Jacklyn Smith.
Fans React To Plot Twist
Needless to say, this baby news came as a shock to fans. Most of them took to X, formerly Twitter, to react. The reaction was mixed, at best. Most fans were shocked to learn that an older woman was pregnant. Meanwhile, other fans had no idea that Heather and Captain Massey consummated their relationship.
One fan joked, “Damn, everyone getting pregnant. Tristan next then.” Another user excitedly wrote, “SHANIA’S CHARACTER PREGNANT. I’M DYING.” One user added, “I can’t deal with another pregnancy on this cruise.” There were also fans who loved the moment when Heather comforted Avery about her pregnancy. It was tender and sweet.
