Season 2 of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives started off so strong that it started trending on all forms of social media, including X, formerly Twitter. The original Hulu series reveals that #MomTok has conflicting ideas on money and fame. Has it gone to some of their heads? Find out for yourselves.
From Swinging To Finances
Things have shifted in the second season. In the premiere season, the ladies of MomTok embraced their swinging lifestyle, which disrupted families and marriages. Now, in Season 2, the conversation has shifted to money and fame, reports PEOPLE. During dinner, Jessi Ngatikaura brought back the truth box, which allows the cast to clear the air, for the most part.
“Are you worried Demi was willing to take a bigger contract even if it meant you would be dropped from the show?” Jessi asked. Demi Engemann laughed and said, “We can’t run away from this.” The cast was determined to break the fourth wall and talk about their contracts.
In her confessional, Jessi explained why she brought it up. She admitted that she and Demi had “a falling out a couple of months ago,” which “rocked our friendship.” Their friendship crumbled after they argued over money. Other cast members shared more details of the story.
Mayci suggested that Demi wanted Jessi off the show to make more money. Jessi admitted that she doesn’t “want money to come between all of us.” Taylor revealed that Demi was talking about Jessi behind her back on MomTok. Jessi addressed the group, “I also know I’m in a situation that’s different than everyone.”

Emotions Run High
Tensions are high this season. Most of the ladies have been questioning their friendship since the show’s success. During their tense dinner conversation, Taylor Frankie Paul suggested that she was “the most vulnerable” out of the entire group. But of course, she shifted the conversation back to money.
“I think some people [who] aren’t as open and aren’t as vulnerable sharing their actual s*** that’s going on behind closed doors [don’t] deserve to be paid more, because they’re not vulnerable,” Taylor explained. “They’re only being surfaced based at a dinner table, ‘creating drama.'”
Taylor openly proclaimed that she “has the right to get paid the most.” Demi claimed that she didn’t want to kick anyone out of MomTok. In another scene, Layla told Taylor that while Demi had a point, she took things too far. She also shared that Demi wanted to know how much she made for the shoot they created.
“MomTok is supposed to be sisterhood and support and genuine friendships. However, I think Demi has let the money side and greed go to her head. Yes, MomTok is a business, but it’s much more than that,” Taylor said. “I’m not scared of her, but she’s a scary girl, if that makes sense. And we all need to be aware.”
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 is available to stream on Hulu and Disney+.
