Ahead of the premiere of The Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos talked about her experience with the show. She teased what fans can expect in the first episode and also revealed who’s making her glow lately.

Getting Ready for Her Debut

Just a year ago, ABC premiered The Golden Bachelor, which followed the love story of Gerry Turner. He described himself as a widower who was looking for love for a second time. He ultimately chose Theresa Nist, but their marriage only lasted three months. Gerry’s love story was tainted with controversy and a quickie divorce.

Joan Vassos is stepping up to the plate as the first-ever female lead of The Golden Bachelorette. She appeared on Good Morning America before the Wednesday, September 18th premiere. In her sit-down interview, she teased that the first episode was chaotic.

That’s not all that she teased. Vassos revealed there’s a reason why she’s “glowing” in her interview. She was lucky enough to find love in her journey. However, Vassos can’t say more until the season finale airs.

Vassos has been sharing teasers on Instagram. She posted a clip of her interview with GMA. Vassos looked stunning in a hot pink dress as she discussed her journey to find love again. The widow felt guilty about moving on from her late husband on a reality show. However, she learned to embrace the journey.

Survived

In the clip, Vassos admitted she “loved” being on the show and is “very happy” with who she chose. GMA host Laura Spencer exclaimed, “You survived!” Vassos responded, “I survived; I actually loved it!” Spencer pressed Vassos for more details, but she wouldn’t spill.

She only shrugged with a sly smile and said she was “very happy.” As for her kids, Vassos says they’re also “very happy” for her and want the best for her. At first, they found it a “little cringy” to watch her kiss men on national television. However, they’re happy with the process.

The Golden Bachelorette debuts on Wednesday, September 18, at 8 p.m. EST. New episodes stream on Hulu the following day.
