On the Tuesday, May 27 episode of The Valley, shocking revelations were made about Jax Taylor. Brittany Cartwright revealed at the pool party that he hasn’t paid off the mortgage on their marital home. However, that hasn’t stopped him from getting a house next door to his best friend, Tom Schwartz.
Brazen Mindset
Jax Taylor has a new mindset about whether or not to pay off his mortgage. He revealed how he felt about it on the After Show. Brittany told producers that he hasn’t paid it after she moved out. She was staying at an Airbnb, where she hosted a pool party. “I’ll never forgive him. My son has autism. He knew that Cruz’s routine and comfort were very important. And because of his ego, he said, ‘I’m not moving out.'”

Yet, he refuses to pay off their mortgage. But that’s not all. Brittany revealed that Jax claimed that she never paid the bills. A good percentage of her income went to “rental homes.” As for Jax, he claims that he had a “f*** it mentality” when it comes to their mortgage and other responsibilities.
“I had the f*** it mentality. I stopped paying it for six months. I mean, obviously, I paid it, I ended up paying it,” Jax explained. He joked that “It was a fun check to write.” He was behind by several months, so he had to pay “a couple hundred grand.”
Brittany argued that he had never paid his taxes for years. However, Jax claimed that he didn’t have the money to pay them, and many “people make mistakes in taxes every single day.” He learned his lesson and re-mortgaged. Now, he’s getting his finances in order. But Brittany is still cleaning up after his costly financial mistakes.
Moving Next Door To Schwartz
Despite his financial and mental health problems, Jax still signed a lease and moved next door to Tom Schwartz. He revealed the reason behind that decision on the After Show. “I want my son and I want Brittany to be in the home that they’re used to,” Jax explained. He had them move from “Airbnb to Airbnb.” So, that’s when he decided to get a place of his own.
Jax signed the lease while he was at a 30-day rehab. He recalled the time Schwartz told him that he had moved from a big, beautiful marital home, which he shared with Katie Maloney, to a small, cramped apartment. Jax didn’t want to make the same mistake, so he bought a new home near Schwartz’s house.

“We found a gold mine. I mean, an absolute gem, we both like. It looks just like our homes,” Jax said. “Can you not say ‘we’?” Schwartz corrected him. Jax said that his therapist encouraged this monumental decision. “I just thought in my head that this was the right move. I told my therapist, and I went, ‘How do you feel about this?’ She said, ‘I think that’s a great move.'”
Jax had a revelation. He wondered why he was making his wife and kid move around. “I look back at it now and it still was the right move,” he reflected. The reality star wanted to lock down a new home as soon as possible. He assumed Brittany would be happy, but “it backfired on me.” She signed a three-month lease on an Airbnb that she couldn’t get out of.
