Tuesday’s episode of The Valley took a dark turn. It showed the events that led to Jax Taylor’s breakdown and entrance into a mental health facility. His friends, Jason Caperna and Daniel Booko, staged an intervention before it was too late. Later in the episode, Jax got into a heated argument with Brittany Cartwright about his anger and drug use. Now, Jax is sharing his story.
Breaking His Silence
Jax confessed to his drug use before Season 2 premiered this month. On the After Show, he credited the mental health facility for saving his life. It was the best decision, even though he didn’t want to go through with it initially. In a joint interview with Jesse Lally and Tom Schwartz, Jax reflected on the 30-day program and what motivated him.
“I don’t know what to say, other than this has been the worst year of my life,” he started off saying. Jax had no idea that fellow Vanderpump Rules co-star Kristen Doute would be the voice of reason. He faced difficult conversations with his friends. He admitted that he was in denial of his problems. However, most fans have seen it coming since the first season of VPR.
Jax came up with numerous excuses for not entering the facility. He was worried about not financially supporting his family. Yet, he failed to see the full picture. Jax admitted that he “blamed everybody else” and declared that he “didn’t need to be there.” It took someone else to say, “I don’t know who you are, but you seem like you’re really standoffish. Listen, you paid to be here. Let this place work for you.” Jax surrendered to the moment and allowed the facility to help him.

How Does He Feel Now?
At first, it was hard for Jax’s inner circle to convince him that he needed help. Some of them still don’t believe he understands the gravity of his problems to this day. Kristen shared in her interview that she’s still having the same conversations with him. His friends are concerned that Jax could fall back into his old ways.
However, Jax is glad that he made the right decision. He told producers that he was glad to get treatment. “It’s saved my life,” he admitted. “I’m probably still here right now because of Brittany and everybody saying, ‘Listen, you need to go.'” He then broke down in tears.
Fans won’t see Jax as much on the show this season. However, he will share video updates throughout his 30-day stay. Jax will experience emotional turmoil. At one point, he admits that he wants to leave the facility. It will be a dramatic season of twists and turns.
