Sherri Shepherd learned from one of the greats. Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause showed her how to perfect the perfect soap opera face slap.

Slap Heard Around the World

Nowadays, most TV watchers associate Stause with Netflix’s Selling Sunset. Long before she became a real estate agent and reality TV staple, she was a soap star. Stause played the role of Amanda Dillon on ABC’s iconic soap opera, All My Children. She makes good TV because she knows drama.

Stause stopped by The Sherri Shepherd Show to spill some of her secrets. Shepherd wanted to learn how to do the iconic soap opera face slap, which was seen on AMC, Dynasty, and other classic shows. Some soap operas pay homage to this bold move to this day.

Stause and Shepherd stood face-to-face in front of one another. Shepherd held her arm out while locking her elbow. She tried to get into the mood. Shepherd joked about Stause “messing with my man.” But Stause advised her to start the scene with her hand down.

Shepherd said, “It’s been a while since I slapped a bitch.” Both Stause and the live audience shrieked in laughter. The duo did another cut. Shepherd perfected the soap opera face slap. The DAYS alum returned the favor. Shepherd was shocked over how much it hurt but wanted Stause to do it again. “Oh, that’s good. I like that!” Shepherd exclaimed.

The official Instagram page for The Sherri Shepherd Show shared the hilarious clip. “Before ‘The Traitors’ and ‘Selling Sunset’ – we loved Chrishell Stause on ‘All My Children’ – so you know Sherri had to get tips for the perfect soap opera face slap!” the caption read. This was a special treat for soap opera fans.
