Drew Barrymore revealed how she sought revenge on a cheating ex. The outspoken daytime talk show host recalled the creative plan she came up with.
Revenge Plot
During Monday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress talked about a time when she caught her ex-boyfriend cheating on her. She came up with a cunning idea. But first, Barrymore dumped all of his stuff on his driveway and didn’t look back.
“I found out my ex-boyfriend was cheating on me. This was decades ago,” Barrymore told guest SZA, per Entertainment Weekly. “I took all of his stuff in my house, and I put it all in his car, and then I rolled his car down his driveway and left it there and just walked away.”
That’s when she included the other woman in her revenge plot. Barrymore asked her to meet up for drinks. But there was a twist. Her ex was also joining them as well. But he wasn’t there for a good time. “I was like, ‘You’re gonna sit there, and you’re gonna listen to the two of us talk! So shut up and listen!’ And then I drove him home, and I looked at him, and I go, ‘Now, get it out.'”
Barrymore refused to out her former boyfriend. That’s because he eventually became her “dear friend.” She admitted that they were both “young and stupid.” Barrymore admitted she wasn’t perfect either. She’s opened up about getting back at another ex before on her show.
Bonding With SZA
That’s not all that happened during the segment. Barrymore and SZA bonded over their quirks. SZA was thrilled to be on Barrymore’s show. She revealed that she’s a big fan of the actress. SZA always looked up to Barrymore because they both have a lisp.
They also talked about her hit song “Drew Barrymore.” Barrymore promised SZA that she would teach her “all my old tricks.” Despite her creative revenge plot, Barrymore admitted she no longer acts like this. In fact, she’s become friends with most of her exes.
SZA couldn’t agree with her thought process. Barrymore admitted that it can take time because “time heals.” SZA retorted, “No, it don’t. Time passes by, baby!” Barrymore exclaimed, “We need more of each other in our lives.”
