Hallmark Media recently landed a deal with Netflix, which means most of its television shows and movies will now be available in international markets. This move helps Hallmark achieve its goal of expanding its global reach.

Expanding Its Market

Hallmark’s own streaming service, Hallmark+, launched in September 2024. The streaming service and membership program are available to American viewers only, but Hallmark Media wants to expand its content to international markets, which makes this deal a win-win for Hallmark.

Netflix is one of the few streaming platforms that’s available in other countries. Hallmark previously had a three-year deal with Peacock, but that ended on May 1, 2025.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news about their deal with Netflix. The media companies agreed to bring ten of Hallmark’s Christmas films to the platform, which also streams its own holiday movies.

More Hallmark content will be coming to Netflix over the coming months. On October 1, viewers can watch the first two seasons of The Way Home.

Hallmark will move some of its Valentine’s Day movies in January 2026. This deal will also broaden Hallmark outside of the U.S. market. Only select Christmas movies will be available to stream in November.

The End Of Hallmark+?

There is no need to worry about Hallmark+‘s fate. This Netflix move doesn’t mean the streaming platform is going anywhere. In fact, Jesse Wallace, Senior Vice President and Head of Distribution at Hallmark Media, saw the numbers for both Hallmark Media and Hallmark+ and wanted to expand on that.

“Hallmark was pleased with our linear viewership and Hallmark+ engagement and subscriber growth after the Netflix deal,” Wallace told THR. “We’re confident the strategic windowing of our content through this branded licensing agreement will fuel our linear and SVOD businesses.”

Hallmark content will finally be available to Netflix subscribers in other countries. What are your thoughts on this expansion? Did this news surprise you? Sound off below in the comments section.
