It’s official. Lori Loughlin will reprise her role of Abigail Stanton on Season 14 of When Calls the Heart. PEOPLE was the first to break the news. It’s been seven years since Hearties saw Loughlin on the Hallmark series.

Key Takeaways

  • Season 14 will include original cast member Lori Loughlin.
  • Her final appearance was in Season 6.
  • This means that Hallmark renewed the series ahead of its Season 13 premiere.

More Familiar Faces

According to People’s report, Loughlin will appear in six upcoming episodes of Season 14, which is set to start filming next summer. The series is scheduled to air in 2027. This news reveals that Hallmark has already confirmed the popular drama for a 14th season.

Last month, the premiere date for Season 13 was announced. It will air on Sunday, January 4, 2026. It seems like Hearties are getting yet another Christmas present. The show has been packed with big news lately.

Also returning in Season 14 are cast members Erin Krakow, Kevin McGarry, Jack Wagner, Chris McNally, Pascale Hutton, and Kavan Smith. Michelle Vicary, Hallmark Media’s head of programming, shared a statement with PEOPLE, “At its core, the Hallmark brand is about hope, positivity, and connection, which is also the central theme of When Calls the Heart.”

Because of this, “We felt that Season 14 was the right time to continue Abigail’s story with her return to this beloved series.” Loughlin played a widow who became friends with Elizabeth (Krakow) upon her arrival in Hope Valley.

What Happened to Abigail Spencer?

Abigail was written off the show following the 2019 college admissions scandal. Loughlin spent two months in jail. Her last episode aired around that time on March 10. The show had to find a way to move on without her character.

When the series returned in May, Elizabeth’s voiceover revealed that Abigail had found out her mother was sick back home. She had to leave Hope Valley to tend to her. It’s been seven years since Abigail returned to Hope Valley.

Loughlin made a return to acting. She appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm and played a cop on the Prime Video Drama On Call. In addition, she reprised the role of Abigail Spencer on the spinoff When Hope Calls on Great American Family.
