It’s official. Ektor Rivera confirmed his return to Chicken Sisters. This comes amid the news that Hallmark renewed the hit series for Season 2.

Rivera took to Instagram to share a special announcement with fans. He confirmed that he’s returning to Season 2 of the Hallmark+ series. Production has already started in Vancouver, and Rivera was there with the rest of the cast. In his Instagram video, he wore a black hooded jacket, baseball cap, and shades.
“Un update…#TheChickenSisters Sundays at 9 pm (ET) on @hallmarkchannel 💛Streaming on @hallmarkplus,” Rivera teased in his caption. The actor recorded and posted the video in Spanish. The Puerto Rico native confirmed that he’s returning as Chef Sergio, who is interested in Amanda (Schuyler Fisk). During his walk, Rivera admitted that he enjoys working with Hallmark “because the content is family-friendly, the team is wonderful, and given where I am in my life right now with my children, it’s something I really like.”
That hasn’t stopped fans from buzzing about Rivera’s message. They took to the comment section of his Instagram post to react. Most were in agreement that Rivera’s character is a “hot” addition. “Oh, I love him,” one fan exclaimed. “Yes! He’s hot!!!” wrote another excited fan. Rivera also received comments from his Puerto Rican fanbase and fellow actors.
Hotter Than Ever
Season 2 will be hotter than ever. Rivera’s special message isn’t the only news that has fans worked up. Former JAG star David James Elliott has also been added to the cast. Hallmark did confirm this news. In addition, James Knot would return to the show.
Rivera has appeared in other Hallmark movies, including 2022’s Groundswell with Lacey Chabert and 2021’s Sugar Plum Twist. According to his IMDb, in addition to landing English-speaking and Spanish-speaking projects, Rivera has also had supporting roles in NCIS: Origins and FOX’s Fantasy Island.
