The Golden Men Speak Out
Ever wondered what some of your favorites from The Golden Bachelorette are up to? Some of them are on a podcast called In My Hometown. Pascal Ibgui joined Jack Lencioni and Jordan Heller for a candid conversation about The Golden Bachelor premiere, which is now streaming on Hulu.
Ibgui claimed that Owens was “miscast” as the lead. He also doesn’t think his apology was “sincere.” Ibgui can’t help but think about Owens’ previous comments on looks and age, and how that tainted him. (The Golden Bachelor’s Mel Owens has a new perspective on dating.)
However, some fans called out Ibgui’s hypocrisy. They recalled the time when he said that if he were to be The Golden Bachelor, he would prefer younger contestants. Ibgui was against the idea of dating a 72-year-old woman. In that same interview, the hairstylist warned that he was high maintenance.
Not Holding Back
But that’s not all that Ibgui said. He also felt that Owens came across as “stiff” and was already “in over his head” when it came to choosing his love interests. The trailer for the rest of the season shows drama among the group of ladies, who are vying for Owens’s affection.
Will he choose the love of his life, or will he end up with the most flirtatious one of the group? Meanwhile, Heller and Lencioni agreed with Ibgui’s thoughts. They stated that Owens wasn’t the right man for the role. However, they didn’t hold back as they recalled the time when Ibgui made similar comments about a woman’s age.
As for Bachelor Nation fans, they argued that someone from Vassos’ season should’ve been the lead. There were various personalities, many of which stood out. Owens has received a mixed reaction from viewers after the premiere, which aired on Wednesday, September 24. Some viewers on social media felt that he was “too boring” to lead the show.
