Jonathan Rone found love again after The Golden Bachelorette.
Jonathan Rome was one of the 24 men who competed for Joan Vassos’s heart on The Golden Bachelorette. Though he went home with a broken heart, he found love again.
Rome was hopeful of finding love on the ABC show. He felt that he had a good connection with Vassos. Unfortunately, she didn’t choose him for the hometown dates. Rome admitted that he went home feeling “dejected.” That’s when he was inspired to embark on his own journey to love.
“So Joan didn’t keep me along for the hometown visits, and so I came back to Iowa with my tail between my legs, so to speak,” Rone shared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “I started this whole journey looking for love, and so when I came back, I was a little dejected, and so I kind of eventually went back online, and I was just swiping and looking, and then I came across Michelle’s pictures, and she eventually contacted me.”
The two immediately “connected.” Rone revealed his new girlfriend as Michelle Zimmermann. He said that her first message to him “made my heart warm,” but he didn’t share the details of her “first words.” Zimmermann was attracted to Rone’s gorgeous eyes. “The eyes are a connection to your soul,” Rone explained.
The fan-favorite wasn’t shy about sharing how they met. He downloaded the dating app Bumble after his time on The Golden Bachelorette. “Let’s just say I was stung by a bee,” Rone coyly said. That’s when he came across Zimmermann’s dating profile. Co-host Kathy Swarts wanted to know the couple’s next steps. She asked if they were going to move in together.
“You’re moving fast, aren’t you?” Rone joked. The couple has only been dating for six months. Still, Rone is so glad to have found love. “She has a playfulness that I think we both connect on, and we just have fun with each other,” Rone gushed. “That’s what I love about it.”
This isn’t the first time he’s talked about his new girlfriend. The men of the mansion reunited for the “2024 Men Tell All” episode. During the show, Rone thanked Vassos for giving him the opportunity to find a connection. He’s been sharing updates about his relationship on social media.
