All My Children alum Mark Consuelos is playing a billionaire who gets swallowed by a whale, as seen in the new trailer. Then, he offers to return the favor, which leads to an outerworldly disaster.

Key Takeaways

  • Consuelos will star in a multi-arc episode for the Season 9 premiere
  • He plays a billionaire, Tripp Houser, who almost loses his life while kayaking
  • Eddie and Hen rescue him to shore, and perform CPR on him
  • In return, Consuelos’ character promises to pay it forward to them

The trailer for the upcoming season dropped last week. New details are emerging about Consuelos’ new role, which has Station 118 jetting off into space. 9-1-1 Season 9 premieres on Thursday, October 9, on ABC and streams the following day on Hulu.

Trailer For 9-1-1 Season 9

Consuelos fits into his role for the primetime show. In the trailer, he plays Tripp Houser, who nearly gets swallowed by a whale while kayaking, as reported via People.

Eddie (Ryan Guzman) and Hen (Aisha Hinds) were at the right place, at the right time. They found him and brought him safely back to shore.

As Tripp regains consciousness, he tells Hen, “I wanna reward you for it.” Hen assures him that she was only doing her job. But Tripp won’t take no for an answer.

Blasting Off Into Space

Last month, 9-1-1 fans got a glimpse at Season 9, which shows some of the crew from Station 118 blasting into space. Now, we know that Tripp is the reason for this bizarre move.

He wants to send Hen into space, but she doesn’t want to go alone. She asks Karen (Tracie Thomas) to go with her, but she refuses. Karen doesn’t think Tripp is interested in science.

Athena (Angela Bassett) joins Hen on the trip. “I can’t believe I let you talk me into this,” she said. Tripp ignores the calls to “scrub the launch” since he’s a stubborn man who does what he wants.

He moves forward with sending Athena, Hen, and his “everyday heroes” into space, despite the fact that meteors are crashing into the Earth. Station 118 has a lot of work on its hands, both on Earth and in space.
