  • The actor also remarked that Elizabeth’s journey will be memorable.

Romance and Surprises in Store on WCTH Season 13

In an interview with Parade, Erin Krakow teased Elizabeth’s journey for Season 13. She said that she will continue to make memories with her family and with Nathan (Kevin McGarry). Krakow is in awe over Elizabeth’s transformation.

“Elizabeth started Season 1 as this fish out of water, trying to find her sea legs in a new town and a new role, with new people and flirtations,” Krakow explained. “Now, it just feels like she’s a very grounded, capable, confident community member, mother, and partner. We’ve really seen her grow into a woman of confidence.”

Hearties can expect more of Elizabeth’s growth in Season 13, and Krakow also noted that some surprises are in store for her character. She complimented the writing team, who came up with fresh and innovative ways to share the stories of the residents of Hope Valley, whether they’re experiencing heartbreak or joy.

“I saw many surprises in store from our writers who are so skilled and inventive. They are just so creative and inventive at finding ways to build out Hope Valley, learn more about it, and create new opportunities for our characters to both struggle and shine,” Krakow bemused.

Lessons From Children

For much of her time on the show, Krakow shared the lessons that she got from the children she worked with. Some of these lessons stuck with her now that she prepares to become a first-time mother.

Krakow has worked a lot with kids over the years. Prior to acting, she worked as a nanny and babysitter. Kids have always been a part of her life. Krakow is grateful for her role as Elizabeth because she continues to look to them for guidance and wisdom.

The Hallmark star shared what lesson she’s learned from Hyland Goodrich, who plays Elizabeth’s son, Little Jack. “I think taking an interest in his interests and being curious about the things he’s curious about has been really meaningful in our relationship,” Krakow said. “So that’s something I’ll carry with me into motherhood, is trying to support my child’s interests and meet them there with a comparable curiosity.”
