The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 reunion is here. As expected, it’s explosive. But just one person was missing from the reunion. Demi Engemann skipped the event, and for good reason. Does that mean she’s leaving the Hulu series?
Engemann Speaks Out
Rumors flew that Engemann was leaving the Hulu series. In an Instagram Q&A with Secret Lives fans, the reality star explained why she didn’t attend the reunion. She had other plans since it was thrown together last minute. “I was [invited]. It was short notice, and the only day they could get the location secured was the day that my entire family and I did Disneyland,” she wrote, reports Us Weekly.
Engemann didn’t want to confront her fellow cast members and deal with petty drama. Understandably, she wanted to go to the Happiest Place on Earth. “We had already booked all our flights, and the Airbnb was nonrefundable, or we would’ve moved the trip to be there,” she explained. The member of #MomTok asked producers to reschedule the reunion, but they wouldn’t oblige.

First Reunion Show
This is the first time that Secret Lives had a reunion. In fact, the show was intended to be a limited docuseries about the swinging controversy that rocked TikTok. To the surprise of Hulu, the show became an immediate hit, leading to the renewal of the second season.
It included the return of cast members Layla Taylor, Jennifer Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Taylor Frankie Paul, and Whitney Leavitt. In Season 2, Miranda McWhorter joined the cast as a recurring member of #MomTok. Producers immediately picked up cameras to follow the drama that played out after the first season.
Engemann’s disappearance followed her feud with Leavitt. She had a heated dinner conversation with the cast, who accused her of acting as if she were more popular and in demand than they were. This season, the talk shifted to fame and money.

In her Instagram Q&A, Engemann noted that not everything was shown on the series. But she didn’t have a fun time watching it back. “There was almost zero context to most everything related to me! It felt like a bad dream watching it back,” she wrote.
