Cheryl Burke got candid about her dating life. The Dancing with the Stars alum explained why she hasn’t found love again and the reason why it is empowering.
Burke’s Dating Life
Burke explained why she remained single after her divorce on the Thursday, February 13 episode of the I Do Part 2 podcast. She ended her marriage to Matthew Lawrence in 2022. She shared that it’s been over a year since she had a date. Her date book is empty these days, and she’s fine with it.
“I don’t know; I mean, I can check my calendar,” Burke explained. “Oh, for sure, it was when I was just moving. Okay, zero interest, [I] don’t even try.” She moved from her Hollywood Hills home to Santa Barbara then. For Burke, dating isn’t an option right now. “Like forget the marriage. How much is meeting somebody? I’m like, I am perfectly content in this home, with these four walls,” Burke shared.

Her Empowering Reason
The former DWTS professional dancer shared an empowering reason behind her choice not to date. Burke said that most men don’t deserve her time or attention. Of course, there are times when hot men slide into her DMs on social media. “Of course, I still think guys are hot. That doesn’t mean that they deserve me,” Burke said.
She’s not even exchanging texts with any guys at the moment. Burke would rather save her time and attention for herself. “Right now, I am in the best shape in the world—more than when I was on ‘Dancing with the Stars,'” she exclaimed. Burke has also shared her thoughts on becoming a mother, but she would rather focus on her career after retiring from DWTS in 2022.
The 40-year-old has considered her options, like surrogacy or adoption. But she has no plans to freeze her eggs. Burke doesn’t feel ready to have children anytime soon. “And I don’t feel like I have started my second chapter yet in my career yet, so like I don’t want to. I don’t think it would be responsible for me to bring in a kid right now,” she explained.
