Tuesday’s episode of The Valley continued last week’s drama. The cast went on a group trip to Santa Barbara, courtesy of Jesse Lally. On the last night, Brittany Cartwright accused Nia Booko of not showing her life on the show. It started when Nia wouldn’t admit that her husband, Danny, passed out in bed after drinking too much. Some fans think Brittany took things too far. Now, Nia and Brittany are sharing their sides of the drama.
What Happened
Things went down on the last night of the trip. However, the tension built up slowly during the day. Brittany, Janet Caperna, and Jasmine Goode noticed that Danny Booko took a swig from a liquor bottle hidden in the cabinet. Danny didn’t think it was a big deal, but they assumed he was sneaking a drink because he was drinking alone in the dark. He drank so much that he fell asleep and missed out on some of the group activities.

During the bus trip, Nia called Danny. At one point, she got stern with him as she said, “Listen to your wife first.” Brittany and Janet couldn’t help but notice how Nia was acting. They assumed that she was trying to hide her frustration in front of the cameras. Brittany exploded later when Nia wouldn’t admit that Danny drunkenly passed out in bed. This led Nia to admit the truth. But she argued that her husband was tired because he was up early and had worked the day prior.
Danny joined the group later because he had to work. This wasn’t enough for Brittany. She lashed out at Nia and accused her of trying to convey a picture-perfect image. Danny and Nia have been praised for having a happy and healthy marriage. However, Brittany and her fellow cast members think there’s more to the story. Brittany argued that she had to share the dark side of her marriage to Jax Taylor, who’s in rehab.

Going Too Far?
Brittany received backlash from fans on social media who thought she took things too far. During Tuesday’s episode, Nia met up with the girls the day after the trip ended. They accused Danny of having alcoholism. Nia broke down in tears and talked about the time her parents got divorced. Growing up, she and her mom had to live in women’s shelters and the back of their car.
Nia and Kristen Doute discussed Brittany’s point of view on The After Show. They brought up the time when Jax accused Brittany of drinking during Season 1. Nia could see Kristen’s point. “Our marriage is different,” she noted. “I felt bad for the extent of how it got bad that night,” Brittany explained. “But I’m glad that I pointed out that they were hiding things because it was eating me up that day.”
The cast feels differently about Nia because she gives her opinions on other people’s marriages. Janet argued that it was “unfair.” Nia admitted they’re not as “perfect” as they come off. They would rather discuss their issues off-camera rather than “trash talk” each other on the show.
Danny’s Drinking
Nia and Danny have been open and honest since the start of the show. Danny brought up the time when his wife addressed her postpartum depression. Also, in Season 1, there was an episode titled “Darkside Danny,” which showed him having too much to drink. His drinking is brought up again during Season 2.
Nia explained that they go to couples’ therapy, where they work on their issues. They would rather tackle it head-on so they are stronger together. So far, it’s worked well in their favor. What are your thoughts on Nia and Danny’s marriage? Let us know in the comments section.
