Kelly Clarkson took time away from her eponymous talk show earlier this year, which had fans wondering what was going on with her personal life. Clarkson has kept much of her personal life to herself, for the most part. However, a new report suggests that she’s carefully planning her talk show exit.

Sources close to the American Idol alum told Page Six that Clarkson’s “painful” experience might motivate her to leave her talk show behind. The past few years have been hard on the singer. She went through a public divorce from her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson lost weight while in the public eye, and she made a slow return to music.

During this time, she went through a “moment of clarity” which made her rethink her priorities, reports Reality Tea. These personal struggles emboldened her to make a career decision. “This has all been very painful for her. The difficulty that Kelly, like all of us, wants to be liked, and she had to deal with this new moment in her life. She knew she had to step down for a minute, ” an insider said.

The daytime talk show host “has her priorities, and her family comes first.” Clarkson took time away from her show in March. She went on hiatus for two weeks for an undisclosed “private matter.” Then, she returned to celebrate the show’s 1000th episode. In her emotional speech, Clarkson admitted, “I’ve lost, alone, a lot.”

The End Is Near

The insider noted that the singer wants to end her talk show sometime in 2026. Preferably, before the summer break. “She knows her limits, even on The Voice, when she was working so hard, she knew when she needed a refresh – that’s what you’re seeing now,” the source added.
