Days of our Lives alum Alison Sweeney made a surprise appearance on Finding Mr. Christmas. She was enlisted to help Hallmark’s reality show, which All My Children alum Jonathan Bennett hosts, find its next holiday hunk.

Key Takeaways

  • Sweeney helped Bennett and lead judge Melissa Peterman as they judged the hunky guys competing to become Hallmark’s next leading man.
  • There were eight remaining contestants.
  • Sweeney knows a thing or two about working with hot leading men.

Sweeney Saddles Up to the Challenge

On the episode that aired on Monday, November 10, Bennett and Peterman enlisted Sweeney’s help on Season 2 of Finding Mr. Christmas. Not only does she know a lot about romancing soap hunks, but she also comes from a family of equestrians. Horseback riding is one of Sweeney’s greatest joys.

On Instagram, Sweeney thanked Bennett and Peterman for inviting her to the show. She was sold when they told her that “acting, horseback riding, and Christmas” would be involved. In the post, she encouraged fans to tune into Monday’s episode.

During the episode, the contestants had to memorize their lines for a scene that involved riding horseback with the DAYS alum. Sweeney also knows what it’s like to memorize pages of lines.

She was the perfect fit for this challenge. One of the contestants was pleasantly surprised to also learn that she “speaks perfect Spanish.” Angel Garet, who was born in Venezuela, gushed about Sweeney on Instagram.

Sweeney enjoyed her time with the hunks. She even had some of them swooning, no thanks to her light blue eyes and expertise with the horses. The actress made it easy for the guys to film the challenging scene, which involved numerous moving parts.

What Advice Did the DAYS Alum Offer?

Unfortunately, someone had to go “home for the holidays,” as they do every week. During the elimination ceremony, Sweeney offered the aspiring actors pointers on how they can improve their scenes, moving forward.

“The key in all of this is if you are natural and comfortable with what you’re doing, the audience feels that, and they love it, and they want to feel comfortable watching you. They don’t want to be nervous,” Sweeney told them.

Brodie won this week’s Star Quality Challenge since he perfected the scene despite his nerves. Thaxton and Shephard ended up in the bottom two. Sweeney looked nervous as Bennett announced who was eliminated.

Shephard was the one who had to return home. There are currently seven men left to compete on Finding Mr. Christmas. New episodes air on Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on the Hallmark Channel and stream the following day on Hallmark+.
