The preview for the Thursday, May 8 episode might have teased its future. Episode 17 is entitled “The Wave,” and it is about a tsunami that strikes. Captain Massey (Don Johnson) tells the guests to enjoy their day at their port. But then, things go wrong.
A siren is heard in the distance. A tsunami is coming. Then, the screen flashes and reads, “The last episode before the season finale.” he season finale is scheduled for Thursday, May 15. Does this mean that ABC renewed Doctor Odyssey? Or was this a blooper that was overlooked? This isn’t the first time that the show has had an editing mistake. Fans noticed a glaring mistake in a recent episode.

Doctor Odyssey is one of ABC’s few scripted shows. It has amassed a cult following online. Disney TV executive Eric Schrier addressed the medical drama that’s burning up social media. So far, he shared a promising update. Murphy has the final say in whether the show will be renewed.
“I really love Doctor Odyssey, I think it’s a wildly inventive show, and we’re doing everything we can to support it,” Schrier told Deadline. “That decision ultimately lies with Ryan Murphy, whether Ryan wants to continue to do it, and he feels like there are stories to tell that he feels confident in.”
