Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans witnessed what looked like Gary King’s final season. The First Officer had a rough year on and off the show, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be working alongside Captain Glenn Shephard again.
Sexual Misconduct Allegations
Gary has been part of the Parsifal III since Season 2 of BDSY. However, his hard-working ethic was tainted by his outlandish behavior. Gary already got backlash from fans for his behavior towards the female crew members. That all came to a head when sexual misconduct allegations surfaced after Season 5.
Fans called for Gary to be fired from the Below Deck franchise. Interestingly enough, Gary started Season 5 with a reflective attitude. He admitted that he needed to change some of his ways, especially when it came to his drinking. Gary seemed to have more self-awareness about his behavior. However, that changed after the sexual misconduct allegations came out.
Bravo Lawsuit
Gary’s future with the show was up in the air amid the sexual misconduct allegations. Season 4 was filmed in July 2023. Shortly after the season wrapped, a production team member spoke to Rolling Stone about Gary’s drunken behavior. She also accused the show of covering up Gary’s sexual misconduct.
The woman alleged that Gary tried to force himself onto her in her hotel room. She had to walk him back to his room since he had too much to drink. Despite the allegations, the show moved forward with Season 5 since it happened quickly after Season 4. Gary remained on the cast and was desperate to rehab his tarnished image. But it doesn’t look like he’ll return for another season.

Lashing Out At Bravo
Gary was immediately removed from the 2023 BravoCon lineup. Now, he could be at risk of losing his job because of his behavior. Gary badmouthed Bravo on more than one occasion on social media. He also blamed “cancel culture” for no longer being part of the Bravo family.
In the past, Gary claimed he didn’t watch the show because he didn’t want to observe his onscreen behavior. However, he’s been watching BDSY Season 5 closely. He argued that the producers edited him in a bad light. This suggests that Gary is already on the outs with Bravo and production. He might not return for Season 6.
