Congratulations are certainly in order. Wilmer Valderrama — That 70’s Show alum and current NCIS star — has popped the question to girlfriend Amanda Pacheco and received an enthusiastic yes!
Glad Tidings For NCIS Star Wilmer Valderrama
On Thursday, Valderrama shared a photo of the New Year’s Day proposal, which showed the actor down on bended knee, one hand tenderly supporting Pacheco’s while the other was holding an open jewelry box, the engagement ring contained within. Behind the couple, the golden rays of the sun are peeking out behind pillowy gathered clouds.
A Love Story
News of the engagement follows an eight-month courtship. Rumors of the duo’s bourgeoning romance began to swirl in April of 2019 when they were seen together out and about in Los Angeles, shopping and sharing meals amongst other trivialities.
In May, E! News released a story about the pair in which an unnamed source was quoted as saying, “Wilmer always opens the door for Amanda and pays the bill. He definitely wants to make sure that she feels taken care of.”
The source continued, “Even if they are just doing simple things, they have a lot of fun and are always smiling.” Later that month, another secret source reportedly told US Weekly that Valderrama and Pacheco were “casually dating.”
The Ones That Came Before
This marks the second time that Valderrama has asked for the hand of a prospective bride. He famously asked Lindsay Lohan to walk down the aisle with him a mere two months into their relationship — she accepted, but the engagement lasted for only two months.
Subsequent to that breakup, numerous gossip magazines and websites had Valderrama linked to a bevy of Hollywood beauties including Ashlee Simpson, Rihanna, and Avril Lavigne — though the veracity of the claims remains unsubstantiated.
What is known to be true is that the actor dated singing sensation Demi Lovato on and off for almost six years — between 2010 and 2016. The relationship was a positive one for both parties despite (or perhaps because of) the 13 year age difference – Valderrama was 30 and Lovato 18 when they first met.
However, the couple eventually called it quits and announced the decision to their fans and followers via a June 3, 2014, Instagram post which read in part, “This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another.”
And Lovato, it seems, was true to her word. The same source who spoke to US Weekly about Valderrama/Pacheco told the magazine that, “Demi knows about [Amanda] and is being equally as supportive as Wilmer has been of her recent relationships.”
Soap Hub joins Valderrama’s family, friends, and fans in wishing him and his fiancée all the best with their upcoming marriage.
