NCIS Alum Pauley Perrette Opens Up About Her Dad’s Death From COVID

The bond between a father and daughter can be a powerful thing — such was the case for former NCIS star Pauley Perrette. The beloved actress lost her dad last month to COVID and it’s been a rough road for her as she’s tried to carry on.

Pauley Perrette Honors Her Father

Perrette, who played everyone’s favorite forensic scientist Abby Sciuto for over a decade on NCIS, lost her father on January 20, 2021, and recently took to her official Twitter account to show the flag she was given with the dates of his birth and death. Along with that image were the poignant words that inspired her from a very well-known singer’s song.

“I’ll never talk again,” began Perrette’s post. “I’ll never love again. I’ll never write a song. Won’t even sing along. I’ll never love again. You left me speechless. -@ladygaga wrote that, I feel it. Love you daddy. So much.” Those lyrics from the Lady Gaga song, Speechless, obviously affected her deeply.

Perrette has pretty much taken a social media break since her father’s death. At the time, she did a few posts that let her fans know of the tremendous grief she was experiencing. “I am the total Daddy’s Girl. Daddy is my whole world. My person that loves me SO MUCH, never judges me and always thinks I’m AWESOME even when I’m not. Daddy didn’t make it. #RIP my beloved daddy. #Covid #Covid19″

She also shared a few days later a bit more saying, “Last thing daddy said to me on this earth was about COVID, he said: ‘Thangs not good. I keep fighting. U stay put don’t get near this stuff. It’s really bad’ I am HONORING HIS WISHES! His funeral is today. Imma #StayPut Love you Daddy. Rest In Peace That Passes All Understanding.”

It was on January 3 that Perrette let fans know that her father had contracted the deadly disease that has caused so much death around the world this past year. “My Daddy has #Covid He was doing good until he wasn’t,” she revealed. “He’s in the ER in Alabama. Anyone that knows me or him knows how much we adore each other. I hate this awful virus. PLEASE #WearAMask UNDERSTAND THIS IS REAL, THIS IS AWFUL and WE CAN SAVE EACH OTHER!
