Adoption has been a running theme throughout the run of This Is Us, now in its second season on NBC.
In fact, the drama centers around three siblings who are the same age, one of which was adopted on his birthday through mysterious and yet fortuitous circumstances.
That baby named Randall is now 37 and is played admirably by Sterling K. Brown. His character is memorable in many ways, including how he explores an adoption of his own this season.
That means Randall is looking to share another child with his wife and two girls.
And now, in real life, his television mother (Mandy Moore) is taking a page out of the life imitating art playbook by considering an adoption of her own.
Indeed, the 33-year-old actress/singer told Extra on Sunday night that she and her fiancé, musician Taylor Goldsmith, may be up to parenting a youngster from another mother.
But first there’s a wedding to plan. It’s going to be a low-key affair if Moore has her way. The star says. “….I think it will be small and quiet and private.”
However, this compassionate woman is more open when asked about her interest in adoption.
Her answer to the pressing question of whether or not this is an option:
“Yes. Yes. Very much so… it’s funny, because it is something the show obviously really taps into.”
The This Is Us actress adds, “Perhaps that’s going to be a part of our life at some point…Honestly, both of us individually, it’s something we had thought about before finding each other.”
Well, how about that?
