Lucy Hale has a new gig! The former Pretty Little Liars star is joining the Riverdale spin-off show, Katy Keene.
The 29-year-old will be playing the title character and the show is going to be musical-focused.
The actress announced the exciting news on her Instagram page on Monday, March 11.
“Well I’m slightly freaking out! Thank you @archiecomics / @writerras / @thecw / @warnerbrostv / @thatthingofwhen for trusting me to be your KATY KEENE,” she wrote.
“My heart is bursting ❤.”
A few of Hale’s celebrity BFFs commented on the photo and sent their congratulations.
“Yes!!!” Sarah Michelle Gellar wrote.
“Congrats my love! Welcome to the fam,” Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka shared.
“AYE there it is,” Debby Ryan said.
The series is being created by Riverdale’s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Michael Grassi.
The show is also going to be set years after Riverdale and will focus on four characters who are pursuing their dreams in New York City.
Hale’s character is an aspiring fashion designer who is trying to figure out her life in Big Apple.
Ashleigh Murray, who plays Josie McCoy on Riverdale, will also be on the new show.
After being on Pretty Little Liars for seven seasons, Hale starred on the short-lived show Life Sentence, which was also on the CW. The show was canceled during its first season.
