Never let it be said that cast of Law & Order: SVU doesn’t know how to have fun! Two stars of the long-running NBC procedural drama took a moment from shooting on location to pose for a fun photo!
“Teaching the little one how it’s done,” posted Mariska Hargitay, who plays Capt. Olivia Benson, in a photo with cast member Jamie Gray Hyder, who plays Det. Katriona Tamin, new to the show during this current season. “#InTheTrenches #MamaBearBenson #NewCubInTown #CaptainAndKat #LivLaughLove #LivKatLove #StickWithMe #YoungGrasshopper #SVU21.”
Det. Tamin came to the attention of the SVU team while capturing a rapist. She transferred to SVU where Benson took her under her wing. She’s gone undercover as a jogger to help uncover a sex trafficking ring. Benson’s had to step in and reprimand Kat for crossing the line when she investigated a case against a boxing coach after she suspected he was in an intimate relationship with a teenage student.
As Hargitay’s photo indicates, actors on the show know how to have fun in between takes while shooting on location. The Emmy winner’s social media followers chimed in the post, too.
“HEY I’M THE ONLY WOMAN YOU’RE ALLOWED TO KISS!” playfully exclaimed Alexandra “Ali” Wentworth, who appeared as “Lady in Park” in the 2015 SVU episode titled Melancholy Pursuit. The episode dealt with the SVU team trying to backtrack DNA from a prolific philanderer.
“Omg can’t wait to see her in 20 years as Sergeant! 😍,” wrote @issatrae. Given the show’s popularity, there are no signs of it slowing down so maybe Det. Kat Tamin will rise through the ranks during the course of the program. Law & Order: SVU airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
