Law & Order: SVU Deleted Scene: Barba and Carisi Get Cornered

The detectives and lawyers on Law & Order: SVU not only have to focus on catching bad guys and helping victims, but they also have to deal with the families and friends of the people they work to put away.

In this deleted scene, Barba (Raúl Esparza) and Carisi (Peter Scanavino) get cornered by the extremely upset mother of the defendant in their case — and it’s a bit shocking for the two men.

“Mr. Barba, I’m Andrew’s mother. I just wanted to introduce myself, just wanted to look you in the eye — you too, detective — and ask you why you’re ruining my son’s life,” she asked them. Watch the clip above to see how Barba reacts to the confrontation.
