Lacey Chabert became the Queen of Christmas. She replaced Hallmark Channel alum Candace Cameron Bure by starring in as many as 40 original movies.
Now, she’s stretching her acting chops by appearing in spicy holiday-themed movies for Netflix. At a quick glance, their movies couldn’t look any more different. However, Chabert noticed an unexpected similarity between the two.
Tackling a New Role
Chabert is doing something different. The Queen of Christmas Movies stars in Hot Frosty on Netflix. This movie is so sexy that it would make Santa Claus blush. This holiday rom-com is about a snowman that comes to life as a hunky man.
Chabert plays Kathy, a widow who runs a small business alone. Her neighbors encourage her to start date again, but she’s reluctant. However, that all changes when she comes across a mysterious snowman who comes to life with a magical scarf.
In an interview with Cinema Blend, Chabert noted that she doesn’t feel differently about filming the adult holiday movie. She believes that both Hallmark and Netflix’s Christmas movies share “the same heart.”
It doesn’t matter whether these movies have wholesome storytelling or the shirtless men. It’s more about the feelings that these movies evoke in people.
“You know what? A lot of it’s the same heart that I love to be able to hopefully put into all of the holiday movies because the thing that I personally love about watching these movies is it reminds me of cherished traditions and memories as you’re creating new ones, hopefully with your friends and family,” Chabert explained.
The Mean Girls alum also did it for the “nostalgia” factor. By the way, Lindsay Lohan makes a cameo in the film. The only difference was that Chabert relied on her comedy chops in this role. She loved going back to her acting roots. (Read More About Netflix’s Spicy Christmas Movies.)
