As fans of Game of Thrones know so well, spoilers are taken very, very seriously. As the eighth and final season is set to premiere in just a little over a week, the entire cast and crew of the HBO series is having to be extra careful when it comes to potentially spoiling what fans are about to see.
As you can imagine, it’s probably difficult to promote a season without spoiling it, which is what happened for Kit Harington when he stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, April 4. Though he was careful not to give too much away, Fallon tested Harington, who plays Jon Snow, with a few questions about some rumors.
One of the rumors Fallon asked the 32-year-old about is the fact he can’t do something that many find simple. “I heard that you can’t wink,” the host asked. Turns out, it’s true!
“I thought I could wink, and then every time I’ve winked on a chat show or anything, my friends and everyone have picked up that I can’t wink,” Harington revealed.
To put his lack of winking to the test, Fallon decided to ask Harington some questions about Game of Thrones. “There’s all these rumors and spoilers from the trailer that we saw for the final season. And I was thinking, if I could show a picture and ask you something about it, maybe give me a wink for yes and a blink for no,” he asked.
Fallon first asked, “Look at this, a sword hidden in the snow as the snow drift gets blown away. Does this mean that you are dead?” Harington, because of his inability to wink properly, gave a strange blink and wink combo.
“Flames everywhere, destruction. Does this mean everyone dies?” Fallon then asked, but again, Harington gave his strange wink and blink combo.
The last and final question is arguably the biggest question of all. “Does Jon Snow get to ride a dragon?” Fallon asked. But again, Harington didn’t give us any answers and both blinked and winked at the same time!
Guess we’ll all have to wait for the show to premiere on Sunday, April 14 to get any answers for ourselves!
