Kendra Wilkinson
Kendra Wilkinson shot to fame after becoming one of the late Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends. She has always stayed connected with her social media followers — reaching over five million (!) — on Twitter and Instagram. Now, however, she has a stunning announcement that’s changing how fans will be able to reach her.
“It’s sometimes necessary to take a step back and live a more private life,” Wilkinson posted on her Instagram account, along with a photo of her looking reflective as the sun shined below her.
“Really focusing on self improvement and how to be the best mom i can be while my kids are young. Being content and at peace with myself while exploring and experimenting with my new world is a work in progress. Balance is key but being brave to learn and grow is just as important.”
Wilkinson met the Playboy publisher at a party for his 78th birthday in 2004. He invited her to be one of his girlfriends. “Hell yeah, I’m here!” she later told the New York Post. “I moved in and weeks went by and I didn’t know sex was involved. I knew nothing about Playboy, I’d just graduated from high school.”
Wilkinson appeared on The Girls Next Door, a reality series on E! which followed the lives of Hefner’s girlfriends. She then was spun-off, getting her own reality series titled simply Kendra, which debuted to high ratings and ran for three seasons. In 2009, she wed husband Hank Baskett, who had played professional football for the Philadelphia Eagles, but in 2018 she filed for divorce from him.
The TV personality left E! and launched a new reality show, Kendra on Top, which ran on WE tv from 2015-17. She’s also appeared on reality shows including Dancing With the Stars, Celebrity Wife Swap, and I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
Wilkinson’s fans are supporting her decision to take a break from the limelight. “I have always been impressed with how you lived you [sic] life and remembered how to get the most fun out of your life,” posted Instagram user ruggeddo. “Thus [sic] recent phase has been just as impressive while you figure out you [sic] balances, and priorities. Always hoping for the best for you.” Wilkinson responded — with three praying hands emojis. “🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻”
No telling how long this self-imposed break from social media will be — or when it will exactly go into effect.
