Kendra Wilkinson is giving her son the gift she never got as a child, and she couldn’t be happier to do it. It’s a heartwarming story that almost any mother — and child could completely relate to.
The proud mama revealed on Instagram that her son, 9-year-old Hank, is heading off to camp for a few weeks for the very first time and it’s hard to tell which one of them is happier — but not for the reason you may think.
Not only is her little boy super excited to be going away on an amazing adventure, but she’s also so thrilled that she can give her son the experience she never got when she was growing up — and apparently always wished she could have had.
“The gift I always wanted as a child, we are giving to our son… Camp. Been waiting months for this!! He woke up this AM like it was Christmas morning times a million. Couldn’t be more proud of my son and the person he is and becoming!! See ya in a couple weeks boo!!” the 34-year-old wrote on Instagram.
It’s been a tough year or so for the mother of two, as she and her ex-husband, Hank Baskett, decided to split in 2018. Though she’s been put through the wringer, the former reality TV star recently shared on social media that she’s finally feeling good about herself again.

“It’s been a long time since the last time I felt this good about myself. Pouring myself into my kids and new life isn’t giving me a lot of time to play around and get to know my new self as a woman,” Wilkinson shared back in June.
“Yesterday I did a cover shoot for @latravelmagazine and got dressed up with the best of the best, talked and reminisced about all the travel I’ve done and would like to do, ate chipotle, laughed allllllll day.”
She continued, “No joke, you wanna know what it looks like people supporting you, this is it. Can’t get better than this group who made me feel on top again. Thank you.”
