Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are all signed up for The Voice 2018. And, so is Kelly Clarkson.
That’s nice but there is only room for four judge/mentors on this top NBC talent show. So, that means either Jennifer Hudson or Miley Cyrus are not coming back. Yikes!
JHud has only served in her current capacity for one season of the American version of The Voice. However, she did sit in the big red turning chair in the UK for its version of the show spotlighting up-and-coming talent looking for their big break.
One British source says the former American Idol contestant will be back on The Voice UK in 2018. She will allegedly join Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am as judge/mentor number three.
So, there’s that.
As for Miley Cyrus, she has been very popular in her post on The Voice. However, the former Disney princess did tell Howard Stern last week that as of now she won’t return to the show next season. She’s not signed up yet.
So, there’s that.
Generally, both of these scenarios are vague. Let’s say they are only rumors at this point.
Meanwhile, Clarkson talked to ET in recent weeks, saying she was booked to work on the NBC show even though she was discovered on American Idol many moons ago.
The singer explained her decision, stating, “I’ve been in talks with The Voice about doing stuff for years. It’s a family decision…husband [Brandon Blackstock] manages Blake [Shelton] so we’re all in one place and it’s going to be good.”
And then Clarkson expounded, “I’m excited, ya’ll.”
The Voice airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m., ET on NBC.
