Famed pastor Joel Osteen is doing what he can to help the people displaced by the horrors of Hurricane Harvey.
Osteen tweeted this afternoon that his Houston-based Lakewood Church is ready to shelter people who lost their homes and/or had to leave their homes due to devastating winds and flooding throughout the region.
A Lakewood Church spokeswoman claims the doors have always been open to anyone needing help, but as of Tuesday afternoon, the local government still hadn’t deemed the building an official shelter.
According to ABC news, five school buses filled with evacuees have already arrived at the structure, as people carried their belongings in plastic garbage bags.
The enormous church building can hold up to a whopping 16,000 people and had already doubled as a shelter for Hurricane Katrina victims in 2005.
