On Season 2, Episode 2 of The Valley, Jax Taylor agreed to enter rehab after his friends told him that he needed help. Though he hasn’t been on the show, his presence was still felt. Brittany Cartwright shared the rage texts he sent to her from the facility with the cast.

More Texting Drama

Last week’s episode focused on the boys’ group chat and whether it went too far. This week was all about Jax’s rage texts. During the group trip to Santa Barbara, Jax was busy rage texting Brittany about her hook-up with his friend, Julian. He managed to have his phone with him in rehab. Instead of taking therapy seriously, he sent angry-filled texts to his estranged wife.

Jax has also called his friends while they were on the group trip. Understandably, everyone was confused as to why he was allowed to have his phone at the mental heatlh facility. It seemed like he wasn’t taking his treatment seriously. At the end of the episode, Jax popped up in a video diary. He claimed that he feels isolated and lonely.

At first, Jax hated the idea of attending rehab. But now, he’s finally come around to it. He just wanted Brittany to check in on him more. He admitted that he’s “sick” and needs help. Jax then wondered about the vows they made. “In sickness and in health?” Jax asked. He agreed that he needed help, but somehow blamed his wife for the situation he was in.

Post-Rage Text Regrets

On the After Show, Brittany explained to Lala Kent that she would get “pages upon pages” of rage texts from Jax. Lala asked, “Is there a reason why you didn’t block him?” Brittany admitted that she ended up blocking him. The only reason she kept in touch with him was because of their son, Cruz. (Brittany revealed their son’s autistic diagnosis.)

There were days when Jax would “love bomb” Brittany. Then, he would flip a switch and tell her that she would “look terrible going on a date while [he’s] in a facility.” But Brittany argued that she caught him in bed with another woman. Should the facility allowed Jax to have his phone? That was the burning question. Jax argued that “by state of California law, they can’t take away your phone.” However, agreed the rehab should’ve taken his phone away. He eventually gave it up at one point.

“I am addicted to my phone. I wanted to know what was going on,” he explained. After therapy, he would go to his room and text everybody. Jax didn’t outwardly admit that he regrets sending those texts. He knows that he needs to get better and become a better person. According to Jax, he’s used to “never being told no,” and he’s finally trying to grow up.
