Jane Krakowski, Primetime and Broadway Star, Celebrates Her Birthday

She’s portrayed everything from a starry-eyed airline stewardess turned Fifth Avenue trophy wife cum-theater agent to a Stone Age housewife and a serial killer preying on the geriatric. Now, performer Jane Krakowski is taking on yet another role: birthday girl.

Happy Birthday, Jane Krakowski!

And that’s because she was born on October 11, 1968, in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey, which means that this uber-talented actress is turning 52 years old today! Krakowski made her professional acting debut in 1981 when she appeared in adverts for Silver Fox, an arcade game.

In 1983, she joined the casts of two films – National Lampoon’s Vacation and No Big Deal – and starred in one of many ABC Weekend Specials. In 1984, Krakowski was cast as Search for Tomorrow’s Theresa Rebecca “T.R.” Kendall – a part which elicited two consecutive Daytime Emmy Award nominations.

Her subsequent credits include a cameo in the Michael Douglas/Glenn Close picture Fatal Attraction as well as guest spots on series such as Against the Law, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Due South, and Early Edition as well as made-for-TV movies like When We Were Young and Women & Men 2: In Love There Are No Rules.

Between 1997 and 2002, Krakowski starred as office assistant Elaine Vassal in FOX’s hit dramedy Ally McBeal. Of all her roles, Krakowski is probably best known for either her turn as prima donna Jenna Maroney on NBC’s satirical workplace comedy 30 Rock or for playing the ever-resilient (and completely out of touch) Jacqueline White on Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Among the many stage roles undertaken by Krakowski are Dinah the Dining Car in the 1987 Broadway production of Starlight Express and Flaemmchen, Grand Hotel’s beguiling typist and hopeful film star. Her work in the Broadway revival of Nine translated into a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.

As a voice actress, Krakowski has given life to various cartoon characters in series such as The Simpsons, CatDog, Rocket Power, Robot Chicken, and American Dad as well as successful animated films like Ice Age, Open Season, and Henchmen.

Entertainment Hub would like to wish Jane Krakowski a very happy birthday.
